I am using this as a link frequently. It is a delight to see that there are people using the media for merchant shipping that should have been invented by the industry!!!!!!!!!!

A great site

I stumbled upon this website, quite by chance and found it extremely informative, with its various links etc. Lovely job, webmaster , will be talking about it at our next master mariner meet, and will spread the good word.

Starting a Local "Shipping News"

Greetings, shipmates. I just found this page. I'm interested in starting a kind of local shipping news for my seaport town, to help young people (and others) get a feeling for what goes on in our harbor, as ships of the world stop for pilots, repairs, fuel, etc. The first ship sailed into our bay in 1791, and few take any notice of it all even today! Any advice/encouragement/information to share would be much welcomed by this old sailor.

job hunting

I have been in commercial construction since I left the coast guard. I've decided to go back to sea as a career. Websights like this are helpful. There needs to be a listing for jobs by area that's easy to access. If you have info plz e-mail me.

Ships & Shipping

This is a great site. Being a mariner, it gives me a lot of info, not available any where else.
I would like to see a page dedicated to posting of jobs for the seaman on board merchant ships. And the possibility of mariners who are looking for jobs on board ships, being able to post their CV's.
